If you are looking for a Special Adventure Weekend with your friends, family or group then we have something we think you will love!
Start your adventure at our base in Symonds Yat West and it’s time to meet your local guides for the weekend then we are off to Kerne Bridge to start your action packed weekend with the canoe trip on Saturday from Kerne Bridge to Redbrook, probably the finest one day river trip on the whole of the river Wye. We provide you buoyancy aids, dry bags or barrels for whatever you wish to take with you and then we are off to begin your watery adventure experience.
Accompanied by our Highly Experienced Guides your trip takes you through some magnificent scenery following the river as it meanders down through the spectacular Wye Valley. The river passes under the well renowned view point of Symonds Yat Rock, which is also famous for its peregrine falcons, finishing back in time for lunch at the lovely Ye Old Ferrie Inn.
After a cracking lunch we put our helmets on for this bit and we set off again down river and through Symonds Yat Rapids into one of the most picturesque parts of the Wye Valley the carboniferous gorge, passing Biblins Suspension Bridge and under Seven Sisters view point you make your way into Wales, through Monmouth and finishing around 4 pm at the lovely Boat Inn at Redbrook back in England, where you can have a well deserved drink at the famous Boat Inn before we pick you up and return you back to Symonds Yat.
Known as the Birthplace of British Tourism following on from the publication of William Gilpin’s “Observations of the River Wye”, which created the picturesque movement, you will experience at first hand some of the most stunning scenery and wildlife in the British Isles.
In the evening you have a range of excellent riverside and local pubs and restaurants serving excellent local food and drink such as Ye Old Ferrie Inn, Old Court Hotel, Paddocks Hotel, Wye Knot Inn and Saracens Head, all of which also provide accommodation too.
The following day we are off to the southern tip of the Brecon Beacons National Park and Dinas Rock for some fun Climbing and Gorge Scrambling. If you are unsure of what Gorge Walking or Scrambling is about then it involves donning a wetsuit and a helmet and spending an awesome few hours with your group walking, scrambling, climbing and leaping into plunge pools of beautiful Welsh Gorges.Gorge Scrambling is a great all year round activity (although the winter months can be a little chilly)and our instructors have years of experience and know the gorges inside and out and can make sure your day out is not only as much fun as possible but also safe!
