Fancy a Stand-Up Paddleboarding river journey on the stunning Wye?
Then come down and join our guided session here at Symonds Yat West, the session lasts 3.5 hours and we supply pretty much everything you need, boards, paddles, buoyancy aids, helmets, dry bags etc. and of course one of our awesome guides. We don't supply wetsuits however so you will need to bring clothes you don’t mind potentially getting wet in or feel free to wear your own wetsuit if you have one, and something for your feet like old trainers etc. (no flip flips or crocs please!) Also a drink and snack is a good idea for when we make a quick refreshment stop.
Your guided trip starts 7 miles up river of Symonds Yat at Kerne Bridge where we will you at the public canoe launch, HR95QT. The river section we paddle is nice and gentle, it meanders through the beautiful Wye Valley and under Yat Rock where we can stop for refreshments (If you bring some) then taking a gentle pace we head onto Symonds Yat West.
It's a fun trip focused on chilling out and enjoying the beautiful scenery while we float back to Symonds Yat, if you are looking for tricks and learning more about paddle boarding then why not try one of our static Sunday SUP or Standup Paddleboard sessions that are based just at Symonds Yat, but if this sounds your thing then just book online.
SUP is a fast growing activity it started in Hawaii as an offshoot of surfing, instead of surfers sitting on their boards until they caught a wave stand-up paddle boards enabled surfers to paddle into the wave and already be standing with a paddle to help balance and control the board. SUP has grown massively and now incorporates such other activities as yoga which combined with the water and board is great fun. we have probably the best location on the river Wye for SUP as we have a lovely little beach right next to our access point here in Symonds Yat West.
