An awesome day of adventures in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales...
One of our most popular days with a climbing session at the beautiful Dinas Rock in the morning, followed by a packed lunch (can be provided if required) and an afternoon of Gorge Scrambling in the beautiful Sychryd and Mellte gorges of South Wales.
You are in the very capable and experienced hands of our friendly instructors, to teach you how to scale the heights in safety, climbing at Dinas is ideal for novice climbers and it's a great introduction if it's your first time on the crags!
Your Climb & Gorge Scrambling adventure starts with either meeting you at Dinas Rock (SA11 5NU) or a meet and greet at Symonds Yat West (HR9 6BL) followed by getting you kitted out for the day with wet suits, buoyancy aids and helmets before we jump into a shuttle bus and we are off to the gorge. if we meet at Dinas it straight on with the day and it's time to climb! If coming with us in the bus we are more than happy if you would like to breakfast on the way down as we have an number of service stations on route.We generally start with climbing first and as we mentioned it's a great place to be introduced to the awesome sport of climbing. All our instructors are highly experienced and will make you feel at ease straight away, with the routes not technically challenging it's a great opportunity to build your confidence and have a great time, and of course anyone who changes their mind and would prefer to just watch that's cool too, this is about having fun!
After a couple of hours climbing/abseiling and working up an appetite its time to grab lunch (packed) and relax and reflect on the mornings achievements before grabbing a wetsuit for an awesome afternoon in the stunning Sychryd and Mellte Gorges. We provide everything you need to gorge scramble except a swimming costume (for under your wetsuit), some old trainers and if possible some board shorts for over your wetsuit. Gorge Scrambling is fantastic fun, it involves getting up close and personal with nature and the environment, we start of small and teach you how to jump safely into the clear plunge pools of the Mellte Gorge before we head off up the Sychryd Gorge climbing, scrambling and leaping into the plunge pools, it's certainly one way to work up an appetite. All of the jumps on this adventure can be walked around if you feel you don't want to jump and it's still an awesome afternoon that you won't forget!
